They have a fryer now? Their food has been really bland ever since they changed the mac and cheese.
They've been planning a menu refresh for a while now, but I haven't been in nearly six months, so I couldn't tell you what changed.

I don't like bacon

Wtf?

#cashgrab

What? Its a cashgrap now? What about when Monkish, Noble, Bottle Logic, Mikkeller, Coronado, Modern Times, Abnormal, Council, .& countless others did it? There's hazebro beers everywhere. The minute this hazecraze took off, its been a cashgrab. Though its not the first craze & its certainly not the last. They're supposed to make $$$.

I don't think so. Chalkboard when I was here said "pan fried tater tots"
Correct, no deep fryer (or fire hazard plug in counter ones, thankfully). These things were still delicious, and cheap ($2 to add to a sandwich, $6 for a half order smothered like a baked potato). Still poured 3oz of tapatio onto the chips though and enjoyed those, some things never change

When a brewery that exclaims they only do sours/wilds breaks from that and starts to produce IPAs that they decided to can...yes...cash grab.

Don't even get me started on Monkish. Noble has always had IPAs togo. Abnormal's were available as growlers to go. haven't been paying attention to Council's releases but I know their IPAs were available togo in growlers...same with MT and Coronado.

Mikkeller...I'll give you that one.

Bottle Logic IPAs??? lololololololololz, trash in a can.

Don't care if its there sole focus or a minor focus, the whole NE Hazy IPA craze is a cash grab. Not that I care they are trying to make $$$, but it is what it is.

Oh that I definitely agree with. I place blame on the younger beer drinkers that just recently graduated from drinking juiceboxes and made it past their 21st birthday and aren't quite ready to set aside the juice. But that is also me being old and cranky....get off my lawn, you damn kids, <something else>, and yeah.

Okay, that whole "developed unwanted flavors" rhetoric about Old Rumskull is straight ******** - the bottle I just opened was, without a doubt, infected as ****. I just chugged a Raspberry Blush previously and the tartness of the barleywine still shone through impressively strong.

As it stands right now, Old Rumskull is a terrible barleywine, but a decent try at an oud bruin.

At first I was sad I missed out on bottles. Now not so much.

How was FO? Was bottle logic a total disaster?

Not a total, but it was ****-showey. There was confusion on where to line up. Not many got the memo about the multiple entrances for drafts (front bar & satellite bar), resulting in the line splitting & merging in multiple places as people tried in a hurry to guess what would be to their best advantage. There was no space inside to even put your beer down, but no end in sight to people filing in. After waiting in line an hour before opening in hot AF weather, it took 30 min to get pours. It took the same amount of time (30 min) to pick up bottles. Maybe it would've been easier later in the day. Oh well. Still got to try the beers: FOMO>Number Crunch>FO.

Got any vials?

I got there at about 7:00 p.m., walked through the side door (there was a sign) and got pours of everything (wife was with me) at the back bar in about 1 min. Line was out the door for the front bar. That tells me there were likely a lot of first timers there since BL typically has two bars for big releases AND they posted the details on their social media. It was packed and there was little room to set anything down, but fortunately we found a spot on the railing. Hopefully the city will approve their permits soon so they can expand the tasting room to the other side of the building. Also, walked right up to bottle pick up table right before we left around 9, so the evening is definitely the way to go.

Interesting...I am reading that NC fell way short of the other two based on draft pours.

NC did fall short of expectations. I liked it, and there was a good chocolately taste to it as it warmed up, but nothing earth shattering. For comparison, I think the flavors of M3 were head and shoulders above NC and it wasn't BA. I gave NC a 4 on Untappd.

FOMO on the other hand was excellent! Way better than last year's version. I wish they'd bottle this one.

FO is great as usual.

Going back today with a different set of friends to try it all again. Hopefully a lot fewer people.
