Definitely not worth $31. Was this barrel aged, new oak or whiskey? if it was It did not come through. I enjoyed it but I'd prefer BA speedway at basically the same price and maybe even big bad baptist at half that.

Someone more in the know can chime in with better detail but to the best of my knowledge the java last year was a blend of equal portions of totality (not barrel aged) and one of the Elijah Criags and then X% coffee was added.

This year I heard/read somewhere that rittenhouse rye was used in the blend. So maybe that in place of the EC of last year?

Same sort of blend. I think it's 45/45 Totality plus a BA version and then 10% coffee.

Your thoughts? My fav ever.

Incredibly berry forward. Authentic, even juicy fruit character. Complemented well by the base beer--like chocolate-wrapped berries. Did think some complexity of the base beer was lost, but it was clearly a successful variant. I prefer the base beer to all the variants, fruit or otherwise.

Cool - I agree with the assessment, but not with preferring the base. Your description is better than my "this is good ****".
