French for "mug", though I think typically used in the context of beer (so something like "tankard" might be a better informal translation insofar as it's synonymous with beer). There's also a wine bottle size known as a chopine which is around 8 ounces but I don't know if/how the terms might be related (I've seen pints of beer called chopines in Montreal but who knows with French-Canadian colloquialisms).
