thought that was a troll....wasn't that rumored to happen months ago? possibly last year? because a bunch of idiots complained out of the blue about the branding being offensive..something along those lines

There was a minor uproar from some Indian folks about the name and its disrespect to Gandhi and his views on alcohol. It was a little silly, but not entirely unfounded. NEBCO thought about the situation, decided along with members of the local community of Indian heritage that they could potentially do better and wound up choosing to re-brand.

They didn't do it immediately though, instead burning through their back supply of cans and glasses, which they only managed to do back in September, despite this happening late last year.

It wound up briefly catching some national attention.

As a midwesterner who enjoyed the few Pretty Things beers I had while visiting the east coast and also as someone who never managed to score a Pretty Things boot let alone any of their other glassware, this makes me sad. I had no idea they'd packed it in until now.

Transient / Beer Cellar Neckbeard Nectar that imperialking picked up for me yesterday, the cinnamon is a little strong and the coconut a little slicker / more subtle than I'd like. However a very tasty beer that I'm glad I have two more of for the future.
