Oh, I got kicked out of 2 Detroit/MI beer groups on FB for daring to say bad things about MI's new Treehouse beer.

That beer is flat and tastes like generic orange juice I forgot in the trunk for a few days.

Garbage.
Kicked ouT? Jesus that's petty as ****!!! But it is FB, who the **** even cares, right?

I don't visit those groups because why the **** would I ever need anything beyond release info or whispers of killer tap lists. Trading. Nope. Reviews. Nope.

PS: **** Two Hearted

Now you're just trolling.

I got a howler of Boss Tweed from Holiday and thought it was great. I'm also on my way to Shorts right now so what do I know?

I really liked it last year but the cans I bought had a weird artificial flavor. Starting to think that almost all Shorts offerings don't translate to cans.

This is good to know, as Melt My Brain is one of the few offerings from them I really liked, and was exactly the kind of thing I could see buying the occasional sixer of, given how light and refreshing I remember it being.

I go to Pour all the time as it's a block or so from my place. Really, really nice store and really nice staff. I signed up for their email notifications and asked the guy last time I was there why I hadn't gotten any yet. Didn't miss a beat saying that he has never bothered to send anything out yet. Appreciated his honesty. I've also found their prices to be right in line with the stores in the area as well.
Follow-up on this. Pour is going out of business and will be closed by the end of the month. They are running all of their beer and wine at 20%. Apparently they were bought out by the owners of that massive new gas station just sound of Normandy on Woodward next to the Red Coat. Something about not having two dedicated liquor stores that close in proximity.

While I don't usually get out that way its a bummer he's closing. Great shop, I thought.

Agreed but I think this was something that may have been a blessing in disguise. Place was always empty and they apparently got back all of their investment plus more money. Owner also indicated that he might be working at the new store. Basically just operating Pour out the place.

Does any area have a bigger collection of ******* big breweries than Detroit? And how do they keep popping up? Roak? *******. And how did Axle get a big ******* taproom being as exceptionally mediocre as they are?

Why can't Homes in AA be in the metro area?
I don't get Axle, other than to say the beer is clearly secondary to the food for them. I expect the food will be good, given that it's the Gray Ghost guys doing it.

I think a lot of the time what you're seeing is people like the idea that they're going to a brewery to eat and the fact that this place brews mediocre beer doesn't really matter. People that used to go to Applebee's now are happy going to Roak, Axle/Livernois Tap, etc.

Not Detroit area, but heading up north this weekend and looking forward to checking out Beard's new place.

Yeah. Looking forward to Beards. Snuck a peak a few weeks ago and it looked great.
