Love Nordsyke. Picked up a couple cans of Barbaric Yawp. Haven't had by yet, but had it in bomber form a couple years ago. Loved it too. Haven't had a beer I didn't like from Blackrocks.

Yawp cans were fantastic! Peaty, savory caramel and earthy hops. I may like it a bit more than Dirty Bastard.

I don't remember peaty from the first batch. But if it is, it's shelf-clearing time.

Just ordered me a personal case of Lager Rhythm...when I read the description I was hoping it was as good as Presque and sure as **** it is. Great beer. Didn't care for Yawp tho...think it lacks body and overall depth for an 8 percent Scotch Ale...but that's me.

I'll admit, I've bought considerably less Shorts this year than any previous year. I won't say that their beer is worse now than before, but other breweries beers have come out that commanded my dollars. Think this is a case of doing fewer styles better. I've always thought that the hundreds of styles that Shorts does would be its downfall. It just doesn't seems sustainable. Yet Blackrocks nails everything they do.

Tough call to say that the list of breweries greater than Shorts is longer than worse. I haven't experienced every MI brewery. Considering the widely distro'd MI breweries, yes I'd agree.

This is going to be great. Walking from brewery to bar to brewery etc in an endless loop.

So apparently Batch Brewing is going to be distributing through M4 now instead of self-distributing, so that it can serve more of the state. To date I've only ever seen Batch on tap once here for a special occasion. What should I be on the lookout for from them? Any beers to avoid?

Homes in AA is legit. Beers are solid to quite good, food is interesting and tasty.

Agreed. Was really impressed when I went last week. Having that and wolverine within walking distance is pretty dangerous.

Seems that Farm + Ferment (aka Bigalora Pizza) is abandoning its plan of opening a new brewery in the Detroit area, and instead is buying Arbor. So the kitchens will get an upgrade, and they'll likely be opening additional branches across the state.

Not me. Honestly 90% of the **** on the shelves these days I don't buy. I'll buy mosaic promise , all day, pc pils, occasional shorts ( which has really almost stopped ) some old nation when it's not 5$ a can....ummm oh bam biere I buy a ton of that....a ton of miller high life pony bottles..

You should come south soon. Holliday is doing growler fills and they've had some great stuff on recently.

It's in the works...places around here have been doing really well with taps! Getting a jolly pumpkin won't hurt either, hoping that's done end of summer ! I'm coming down for chappelle in a couple weeks. Hitting Schramm's to get mazer bottles. Maybe have to hit holiday as well! I hope he doesn't get high af this time.

But yes on the shorts, man....they used to get a solid amount of my income. I think the last sixer I got was smore and I have three left lol....

I agree! M43 I wasn't hot on at first but I feel they have been making each batch a little better? Maybe it's just me...:/
