Dudes, I moved to Detroit recently. Living right around Atwater Brewing. Any suggestions for spots around town? Anyone want to get ****** with me and my meager beer, bourbon, mead, and wine collection?
I'll vouch for him as being an okay person to drink with, if that helps. Or doesn't hurt too much. ;-)

Atwater Detroit or Atwater Grosse Pointe?

Alright, why are people getting their knickers all wet for M-43? What a lame ass, boring, watery mess of a beer. It's not terrible. It's just really not anything.

Wait? You're telling me I can only buy 12 bottles of a ******, overpriced stout?

#Horseshit.

Old Nation M-43 hitting distribution this week. Seems to be plenty in the GR area for those that were able to get out at lunch to pick it up. Interesting that my LBS indicated it will be delivered weekly as long as the demand remains high.

Have you tried it? Or are you assuming it's not good? I can name off some not so good hazy IPA's. Drink what you like, bruh.

I've had it. I don't think it is undrinkable. But I agree with steimie that the hype is entirely undeserved. In fairness though, I'm not a big fan of these new fangled hazy ipas to begin with.

I definitely dislike everything I have tried from Witch's Hat more. Not that you were talking to me.

Have you tried Andrew Gose Grapefruity? While my opinion of Witch's Hat has definitely declined as I've tried more of their stuff, that particular beer is seriously excellent. That Guy was pretty good too.

Andrew Gose Grapefruity is the best beer I have had from Witches Hat, but gose are so 2014....

I guess I don't know much about the "hype". I went there in December after a disappointing release at Ellison and had a beer that reminded me somewhat of the stuff friends have sent me from Treehouse. And I'm like, I like this stuff, except I'm not driving and hour and a half to buy it. And now today, I picked it up pretty easily during my lunch hour, about a half mile from work. I like how it tastes, not hyping it by any means.

I have really only had what I have been offered at random Michigan bottle shares. Mostly various Night Furies.

Easily the most overhyped beer in Michigan. I just don't get it.
Overhyped? Perhaps. I think its great. I went to the first release and dug it enough to buy a case. Missed out on later releases but picked up a growler not too long ago. Not worth chasing too agressively I'll admit.
But its better than 90% of the Ellison I've tried, and all the WH stuff in the IPA vein.

I've given a few to out of state buds. One in FL happened to love it. And I'm sure he's not heard of it before hand. Lord knows I didn't hype it for him. So there's that.

For my money, Stormy from North Peak is at least as good and half the price.
