Yeah, what happened to Champanes? Holiday clearly has a more transparent and active social media presence and Champanes barely tries. But it has to be more than that, the place is pretty much a dust bin now.

Oh and their "pub" is overpriced and lame, also their liquor selection sucks.

Champagne's sucks. Been saying it for years. Just don't like that "old" and "dusty" milkshakey vibe.

On another note, anyone been to Pour in RO? Nice spot. Decent selection. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. They say they keep their Beermenus page up to date as well.

I go to Pour all the time as it's a block or so from my place. Really, really nice store and really nice staff. I signed up for their email notifications and asked the guy last time I was there why I hadn't gotten any yet. Didn't miss a beat saying that he has never bothered to send anything out yet. Appreciated his honesty. I've also found their prices to be right in line with the stores in the area as well.

I heard from a somewhat questionable source (he's been right 50% of the time) that Champanges are in the process of selling the land/building (maybe to GM) and that it's just a matter of time until they are gone/move. This may or may not be accurate, but the amount of effort they put into that place favors this being true.

That was my first thought when I was in there the other day--it looks like somewhere that's going out of business.

I'll be back home in Detroit in May and was wondering who is putting out the best hoppy stuff in the state right now?

I was conflicted on where to post this, so I figured I'd start here.
What's the easiest/cheapest route to grab some shelf Schramms...webstore or finding someone to GPIUFM?
I'm only looking for 2-3 bottles of basic stuff. One's for a BIF target and the others are a gift for a good friend.
I'm not well versed in mead so help with either route would be much appreciated. Please feel free to PM.
Thanks guys!

EDIT: You MI guys are awesome! Looks like I may have this taken care of already.

Bell's got into a spat with their Chicago distribution, pulled all ther beer, then sidestepped the agreement with a side label and knockoff beers. That's where Hopsolution comes from Kalamazoo Brewing "Just for Chicago" Hopsolution as in the solution to our lack of Two Hearted. Not so much. I was driving to Kzoo and leaving with cases of whatever was on hand. Batch 8000, Cherry Stout, etc. Early FIBbing.

Let it go girl, let it go.
But agree! Oracle, Mars, Hopslam, and Hopsolution in distant 4th...

I think they stopped making that beer or at least bottling it...
They're made it for quite awhile and I enjoyed it every time I picked it up.

So I think it's fair to say their definitions of "prolonged" and "enjoyment" are still way more accurate than their definitions of "only" and "forever".

Hey guys, I'll be in Detroit for work this week. Annual conference for the ERP system we use. I'll be staying at Ren Cen Marriot and will likely hit the town on Wednesday, Mon/Tues is conference time. Looking to touch some east side tips.

edit: Man that really reads like a bad Craigslist ad

Besides breweries directly, 8 Degrees shops, and the MI Growler Co, anyone got any decent growler spots?
Clubhouse BFD does but I wouldn't recommend it. I saw someone ask for a growler recommendation (clearly not knowledgable) from the bar tender. Jason jumped in and talks up Gubna. After pouring the growler, he charged the dude $64 for the pour. $64!!!!

Ale Marys has the same pricing structure.

Every time I hear this story I smile and hate beer more.
