Have to wonder what would have happened had Sissoko made up his mind and passed or shot with determination.
Could have been a different match. Lots of moments you could make that argument for really. Fortunately for Liverpool the bounces ended up helping them win today.

Unlucky for Spurs. I'm not complaining, I'll take 3 points anyway possible. I was surprised at how lively and lethal Moura looked today.

I thought he was gonna clock both Pawson AND Sarri. That was wound up even for Warnock.

And for last man to not apply, it has to be an attempt to play the ball. Rudiger was nowhere near it.

If one wanted to make the case that Kepa would have made it first and it wasn't a goal scoring opportunity (which I recall is the actual rule, not intrinsically last man), I'd listen but be skeptical. Because that's a better argument (which the NBCSN commentators suggested as well).

Rudiger knew what he was doing. Cynical, professional foul. Red card.

this how it was explained to me from a Liverpool fan's POV:

That wasn't in the box and if the referee on the pitch deems that it isn't a goal scoring opportunity, which he clearly did because there wasn't a red card

I saw Rudiger trip over his feet & fall. Pawson saw it that way as well, but I just found out that the last man rule is not valid anymore + the commentators were saying it was.

The way I understand it, "last man" was never actually valid. It's denial of a goalscoring opportunity. Now, if you're the last man and take down an attacker, 95 times out of 100 you're denying a goalscoring opportunity.

The rule change was that earnest attempts to win the ball would not qualify. Cynical/professional/deliberate fouls still do.

Pawson determined it wasn't a goalscoring opportunity. Thus no straight red. Which I think was the wrong call.

I saw Rudiger tail a player who would have beat him to the ball, and take him down to prevent it. Neither were on the ball so no attempt to play it is remotely justifiable.

The issue is, would Kepa have beaten Zohore to the ball, and not actually be a scoring opportunity. Or would Zohore get the ball with no one between him and a keeper off his line, with a simple chip making a CLEAR scoring opportunity.

I saw the latter.

well it appears you will need to take your gripe up w/ the English FA. I doubt anything will get done cause you aren't donating millions to the English FA. Have a good day & continue to be spursy :D

Of all my gripes with the FA and officiating of late, this is the least of it lmao.

It's gone downhill leaguewide.

Almost makes me want that c*** Clattenburg to come back.

I know people say Chelsea doesn't have any history, but on this day in 1982 Ken Bates bought Chelsea Football Club for only a pound. So raise a pint glass for Mr Bates.

I cried during the opening ceremony.

What?

I haven't been to the Lane since 1992. I wanted to go back before it was torn down but never had the chance. Going back now is a huge priority.

Spurs and Liverpool with great results. Cant wait to see the second legs. We will see how they do away from home. Both squads surely fancy their chances to see it through

Liverpool are practically through barring something ungodly. I would think if a 1-0 result was offered before the game any Spurs supporter would jump at it
