Mmmmm! Lightly grilled they are quite tasty! 👍
I fell like I’ve wasted 65 orbits around the giant flaming gas ball that I never tried one.

Or spearing a Reese’s peanut butter cup, smearing Fluff on it, toasting it, and laying it between graham crackers. .

I was down at the local and iconic wooden boat yard in my town recently, and one of the owners was heating and pouring pitch into some voids in the bilge of his boat (a big classic ocean cruiser).

I could see how this might apply to wooden kegs, as I used to put up cider in 50 gallon oak whisky barrels. I am intrigued and am going to look into this.

Yeah, that looks like a freakin' mess on multiple levels. Send Copilot to Civil Engineering school....

Go for it, someone has to be the first one to try it.

And let me know how it works out, the ferry service seems to be becoming less reliable the more they spend on it. There have been so many problems with the new boats. Most of the problems are related to computerization of the systems. Steer by wire, software problems with generators, stuff like that.

I remember in the old boats being able to see the steering shaft move around in well lubed pillow blocks. None of that now, all computerized and unreliable.

Thanks to all the digital folks who have enabled a less reliable infrastructure. ;}

Oh yeah, I know all about pine pitch - it gets on everything and sticks forever :)
But challenged by hydraulic pressure from the bonding side...might not do very well with that...

Cheers!
That's not the purpose of it, has more to do with filing rot prone gaps between ribs and such in bottom of bilge that can never get fully pumped out. If you have ever seen bilge of a large wooden boat or ship, you would understand that.

I've been away from this thread for a while, taking care of my mother. She passed away yesterday, one month shy of 94 years old. I get home last night, sad and exhausted after being up with her for 48 straight hours and there is a package in the mail . One of you (no return address on the package) sent a package of socks. Words can't express how much that meant to me. Thank you isn't enough but that's all I've got for now.
I had debated not doing Masstoberfest again, it a hell of a lot of fun but also a he'll of a lot of work. But that was just what I needed. So there will be a Masstoberfest again Let me get through the next few days then ill talk to Mrs. Nurse and pick a day. Ill get back to you

And to whomever sent the socks, Thank you.
