The owner wanted to retire, and this is as good a time for that as any, I reckon. There are plenty of breweries still extant...

"Cambridge Brewing Company (CBC) in Cambridge, Massachusetts is closing on December 20, 2024 after 35 years in business. The brewery's owner and original brewer, Phil Bannatyne, said he wants to retire and that "there comes a time in everyone's life when that becomes apparent". Other reasons for the closure include increased competition, higher business costs, and less foot traffic. Meyers, the brewmaster and partner, said that the brewery has been seeing less foot traffic due to lower occupancy rates in the Kendall Square area and the opening of many other breweries in the region.

CBC's final four months will include Patio Season, Festbier, and a new fall menu. The staff plans to continue brewing every week until the business closes, including a Festbier to mark Oktoberfest. "

Well, as I said, you all certainly had a nice day, and I do wish I'd finally been able to attend. I've not been able to do much anything beer related and had nothing to offer, hadn't even gotten the socks delivered yet. One of these days.
