We have always had at least one lawn pig since we bought the property in '88, but they're not agile enough to get past the garden wire fencing (which extends 18" below grade to keep burrowing critters at bay). The current resident is a male that winters under our wood pile and summers under our deck. He's been enjoying the emergent crab grass lately as a change from his usual clover diet

My entire town lost power an hour ago to that first wave. I'm wondering if Hudson Light and Power will try to fix what broke before the next wave hits in a couple hours...

Coming home from a couple week's bike trip in Tuscany, jet lag be like:

I wanna hear details of peddling in foreign lands.
Have posted some pics will post more. Much fun. One incident, hiking not biking, tore rotator cuff due to fall and rode van last two days. Ate much pasta. Drank much wine. Very enjoyable. Rome streets are paved with basalt cobblestones. Very much the feet bruising. Did not impact pasta or wine consumption. E-bikes highly recommended, esp in 103F heat.

Today I did a 10 mile ride on a rail trail to test the ripped rotator and it went fine, with a few moments of rethinking how I load bikes on the CRV bike rack. But lawdy it was sweltering out there and we were home before noon. Be careful out there folks.

Yes it is sweltering today; the only exercise that I am doing is 12oz. curls! 😁

The inevitable payback for our week on the Cape, I had to get to weed whacking and cultivating gardens and mowing the "lawn" which is sporting the lovely fluorescent green of fresh crabgrass :) Got started at 10, finished at 5, needed a long shower to get all the dust and dirt off me. Temporarily lost 8 pounds of water/beer in the offing, I'm putting that back in right now :bigmug:

I don’t do yard work on Sundays, but after church, I am prepping for tomorrow’s work with multiple pints of Blonde Ale & Irish Dry Stout!

Apparently last night until 8:30pm we were under a tornado warning (not watch) and my phone never bleeped, blorped, buzzed or burped at me.
Went through New Salem, pretty North of me.

The sky did look "weird" yellow/greenish glow.
[Edit: North of me in Montague]
