I don't remember a time working on a vehicle where that didn't happen to me. Maybe not heat shield, but you're just about guaranteed to bust your knuckles on something when rust is involved.

Of course, you compounded that by doing all of your cuts downstairs in the garage so you didn't have to clean up sawdust. Would a few seconds with the shop vac be worse than going up and down those floccing stairs 1500 times?

The line in the sand was passed long ago, the line jackhammered into the concrete was the one recently passed. And it was about 6" from a cliff. Management claims to want me back at some point in the future but decides that the blanket rules for bozos should apply to all employees not just those who need them. For somebody they wanted to keep around, the treatment didn't exactly indicate that.

That has always been the plan. I used to enjoy work until it changed the scope of what work needed to be done. Then enjoyment slowed. Then management went all off the handle ape-crap-crazy and enjoyment was a thing of the past. Currently looking at things that I enjoy doing for employment, but they are yielding self-sustaining hobbies at best.
