*Must not make a beaver joke*

Despite loving wood, they are generally gamey and greasy. If you really want to try, I guess you can clear off the fur and see what you've got to work with. We usually trap them in the US, because it's easier to catch them at their home than hunt them out and about.

I'm so proud of myself.

Who doesn't love a good wood?
My interest was piqued aftee I googled around a bit and seeing some mixed emotions about beaver meat, a lot of folks saying it's inedible, surely because they've heard it from their mentors.
And others, including some guys I watch on youtube, deciding to actually try it and saying that basically beaver is meat and tastes just fine.

Dear Beaver Eater,

I've eaten squirrels and rabbits as a kid. Mom used to make dumplings with em when we'd bring one home. If we cleaned it, she'd cook it. Same with fish. Usually anything with a vegetarian diet is ok if you season the heck out of it to mask the wild flavor and then cook it long enough. Beaver should be similar, I would guess. One try so you know, anyway.

Sincerely,
Varmint Curious

Dear recycled computer store in Tukwila,

THANK YOU for helping an old hardware geek out, and not laughing at me when I screw up. Built myself a nice pc that let's me see HBT on the big screen instead of the laptop, It may not have the latest gadgets/bells/whistles, but it does what I need it to do; play music, watch countless youtube videos, and stay in touch with my friends here.

Sincerely, that annoying chick who asks a zillion questions and futzed one motherboard already

As long as you didn't decide that the solution to the mounting holes on the motherboard not lining up with the standoffs in the case was to DRILL NEW ONES in the motherboard, you're still ahead of one customer I'm aware of.

Sincerely, haven't been shocked by customers since 1998

Noone remembers a coward.

Dear Large Flying Thing Megacorporation (I think that's vague enough),

Please. Come back to the table with something we can all agree to, and stop this nonsense.

Sincerely, an organized labor wife who is starting to panic.

Did you screw a post into every hole in the case before mounting the board?

BTW - I am SO stealing "futzed" as my go-to semi-profanity now. Thanks!

Dear proud melonel maker,

...

Nah, I haven't got the energy to rant about you being a showoff. Besides, we should be encouraging each other.

Good for you, making a mead you like.

Sincerely,
Aspiring pyment maker

Dear beaver that I accidentally caught while sturgeon fishing about thirty years ago.

While I realize that at this point you're very much long dead, I hope that you're able to read this note in a warm, dry, comfortable place.

I'd like you to know that I still feel terrible about the imbroglio in which you played such a regrettable and innocent part. The fault was entirely mine and I am deeply sorry for the emotional and physical trauma that I inflicted upon you. I also hope you will find it in your heart to forgive Dave for pouring the beer on you. Dave is dumb and he was just trying to be nice.

Sincerely and regretfully yours,

B. Cross

Dear Beaver Catcher,

I too sometimes have flashbacks to a time about 15 years ago when I hit a cat while driving home at night. It still haunts me to this day, that I may have sent to the great beyond someone's beloved pet. While a beaver may not qualify as a pet (that's something for another thread that I never visit), I feel your pain on revisiting this episode in your life.

Sincerely, I also (kinda) regret the beers I poured on slugs when I was a kid (waste of beer, not slugs)

*please don't hate me I've been drinking*

And because I'm bored.

Dear External Hard Drive,

Why you have to FUTZ on me right now????

Sincerely, it was working JUST FINE yesterday and now I have no movies to watch dammit!!!!
Your pain is felt.
Deeply.

Dear Boys & Girls,
Check your data storage.
More than once every 5 years.
You will find those archival DVD/CD/HD/USB are not only abominably difficult acronymical soup out of which nothing funny can be made when inebriated or sober, but they DO NOT HANG ON TO THEIR BITS AND BYTES INDEFINITELY.
Sincerely
Ask me how I know
<sniff, all those hilariously delightfully drawn Pib comics, just gone>
