Ha, trying not to spend all of my vacation money on a release.

So you can get your case and then hop back in line for more? Is it usually crazy there on release day?

It's a half case because they are 12oz bottles. You can hop back in line. Avery has the release thing locked in. They open and have it set up for two lines (cash only and cash/CC). Right back in the same place is the special taps for the day. They have staff that will take your order and bring it to you in line. And you can bottle share while in line.

The releases are pretty laid back. There's a line that'll get 50-100 deep depending on the release. This one says 700+ cases so a lot of people will just stay home and buy it at their shop since it'll be well distro'd. Plus, it's a quad, so even fewer will care.

I've never felt the need to go back through the line because the limits are always proper. I guess you could do it though, if you wanted more than 12 bottles of a 20% BA quad.

The biggest reason I go to the releases when I can is for the tap list and the jalapeño poppers. There's always plenty of fun stuff to drink.

What DenverBeerDrinker was saying is the veterans will just buy one or two bottles first time through the line, pop it open and sample, and decide how much more to buy.

Gotcha. That clears it up a little for me.

I don't plan on buying all 12 so my next comment was going to be that I can mule a few for some others that may want more.

Any clue what the beer is supposed to be? I might actually be down for this, and there is a small box on its way with some stuff to open with everyone. :D

Labors Of Hercules, when/where did you want to meet up to grab those brews from me?

I can do pretty much whenever sat/sun. How long will you guys be at Grimm brothers Saturday? I could meet up with you in denver before the Rockies game. Or I was thinking about going to the avery release Sunday if nothing else comes up. Are you still going to open some bottles? I should have a fresh growler of Susan coming in at the end of the week and maybe can bring a CB&B saison?

I'm not sure how long we will be at Grimm. That's blue_bleeder's specialty. Sunday is seeming like a possibility. I'll have some stuff to share.

Was planning on staying at Grimm until we need to leave for the ball game but can do whatever. Plan on being at Grimm around noon or so. I know they want me there earlier but Danny and I have plans to hang with the family and dogs in the morning.

Any chance that Avery release will hit distro in downtown Denver? I'll be in town briefly on the 30th thru 1st. Also any advice on a great store within walking distance of the Brown Palace? Thanks!

Hey all, tasting is on for the 16th, if you want to attend, shoot me a pm! Nothing too serious just come and drink some beer.

Last message ill post.

Anyone else hitting up the Pump(KY)n release tomorrow? I'll be there around 3.

Missed the memo on Vail Big Beers tix going on sale. Was already pissed I missed last year. Is the "Commercial Tasting & Seminars" ticket for Friday and Saturday worth it alone? I intend to have an equal emphasis on snowboarding during the day before/days of/after this festival mind you.

I've gone up just for Saturday on that ticket and it was well worth it. The seminars were great and the Sat afternoon tasting is top notch. The tasting is over pretty early (7ish) then the bottle shares kick in...

Does anyone know if any stores getting drops of ale apothecary in the last few days in the Denver area have any left? I am heading up for the Broncos game tonight and would like to get some if possible

I know a few dropped like six months ago and sat for a while at $35 at 750ml. Pretty pricey if you ask me.

Who is hitting up Avery this weekend for Tweak release? Hoping it sees some decent distro. Phenomenal beer.
