Starting with this bore fest. I still revisit this from time to time expecting to unearth some type of substance that I’ve not previously noticed. Many notches below the level of energy of thunder and lightning. And way less creative than the curious city.

I somewhat dig “The Bear Comes...” and “Ice Fields” but that’s pretty much it here.

Maybe, maybe (in my current state) most comparable to something like Toxic Narcotic? Probably a better example but that’s the best I can do at the moment.

Modey Lemon was super crafty proto-punk garage stuff for a minute...then things started to happen for them. Now their drummer plays with John Dwyer.

The hell you say. I was listening to MxBx, Boredoms, Incapacitants, Hijokaidan, Ruins, and on and on long before I knew of Boris. Seriously....I'm not trying to be sarcastic...just a little (a lot) drunk since I went to whiskey after I finished posting in here earlier. Both bands always sold out early in Boston so I guess I assumed both were quite well known.

I used to live next door to the lead singer of Death Grips in Sacramento. We used to get stoned & listen to rap records together in the late 90’s.

Well, that’s interesting. Love perspectives. From mine, Boris has had a following that spans many genres - punk, metal, stoner, popular (due to many many many favorable reviews over the years, deservedly so). I fell in love with melt banana when they opened for someone (can’t remember who) but they were never, and still aren’t, in the same category popularity wise IMO. Post a poll. Guarantee out of every ten who have heard of one or the other, it’s 9 for Boris and 1 for MxBx

DeRanke XX and Witch’s Lazy Bones album.

One of my favorite beers, bottled 07/17. So drinkable! Picked up the Witch album today since I enjoyed the Ngozi Family so much. While not as good, it’s still a great listen full of fuzzy, loaf eye scorchers.
