STORY TIME!!

This was a random post-punk indie band that I latched onto in college. Later, after dropping out of college, I got a ****** apartment with my best childhood friend who was a drummer in a local band at the time. My buddy played a show with these guys one night and they needed a place to crash, so we let them stay at our place..........along with like 20 other people. Well our landlord wasn’t very pleased when we ended up kicking off an acoustic encore set at about 1am. Prob cause he lived right across the alley. We were told we needed to move out by the end of that month. It wasn’t our first similar offense. Not technically evicted, but that’s the way I tell the story. ;)

I actually think there’s an earnestness to this band that I still enjoy. Not as formulaic as other **** I listened to then.

There are places by me that sell new Vinyl. I was actually looking at in Newbury Comics when I decided that really wanted to get a record player again. I just don't want to start building a record collection again at 20-30 a pop. However, a quick google showed a used record store in the next town over I'm going to have to check out. I'm also hoping that when I'm in NYC in a couple weeks the places I used to buy from in high school are still alive and kicking. I was also just curious if there were good online places for used vinyl. I wound up buying The Kinks Greatest Hits on Amazon for 10$ but figured there might be some better choices out there.
Don't ever browse this after drinking a few beers https://www.reddit.com/r/VinylDeals/

Ha! Was gonna tag/reference/blame you in og post but decided against it

I’ve got a couple things showing up on Thursday that I barely remembering buying. Thankfully not international or overly expensive though. Those are the worst. It’s a two step coping process. 1. “**** I bought that?” 2. “****, it’s from Japan??? Now I have to wait an entire month to listen to something that I could have bought at my local shop 7 miles up the road”

Speaking of Discogs, how come records are more readily available from Europe or Japan but not the US? It seems like every time I get excited about something it's never for sale in the US, but always somewhere in Europe. Any ideas?
I was just browsing through there and I noticed when I filtered for "ships from United States" my options went way down.

Originally I was just going to hook the turntable into a pair of old computer speakers I had, but I got the cables all wrong (I bought a rca male to 3.5 male cable when I needed female on both ends). I wound up hooking it up to a soundbar and today I received a cheap tube preamp I bought on Amazon. I have to say I'm actually really pleased with the sound. I have speakers and an amp ordered but in the meantime I'm totally content.

Because they only rock out to David Hasselhoff over there so any other album is worthless?
