TIL New Belgium also has a brewery in NC.

We have the East Coast versions of New Belgium, Sierra Nevada and Oskar Blues. Have been to them all, but only frequent SN, cause it's ******* glorious. Was there last weekend matter of fact.

EDIT: we also have a spot here in Charlotte that Victory, Southern Tier and Sixpoint all operate. It's an interesting concept and nice to have a nostalgic taste of home from time to time.

2013 Older Visc.

Holy ****, it's finally happening...got tix to see King Gizz in September. With Stonefield and ORB opening no less....

And it's at the beautiful campus of the New Belgium brewery on the banks of the French Broad River.

How in the **** am I going to be able to function normally for the next four months?

A haze of beer and records is how.

Pierre Pressure I’ve seen you post Flenser records here before. You pick up any of the HANL repressings that went up yesterday?

Fun little LUM 7”, both sides are amazing. Beer is some ****** up blend of BA stouts from partial kegs that I conditioned on cacao nibs, toasted coconut, and coffee.

Wasn't aware of that repressing, I'll look into it tomorrow. Thanks for the head's up.

Pierre Pressure - i nabbed it. Not one other song on this album sounds like that ditty I sent off to you, but it’s still tremendous.

Some sycamore hoppy beer and Marissa Nadler and Stephen Brodsky (converge/cave-in).

Thanks for the review. I need to give that a listen, though this could turn out to be a very expensive week with these two and Pile's new album all on my radar and out today.

Happy Friday, crew! Beer is an A&G 16-17, n18.
Haven't posted or checked in on this thread in forever--schools been kicking my ass--but then I take a break from computer work and see one of my favorite albums posted. I realized a few months back that I'm coming up on 10 years since i last put together a futile "Top 100 favorite records" list for my bday. I think as useless as the activity is I'll probably give it another go cause why not? Anyway--definitely gonna have a couple Ra records in it this time around. Anybody here ever do something similar? I can't wait til I can get around to day drinking/pic posting next month :)

Right on. I’m down with my AlterDestiny. The Portland Art Museum just had a Ra retrospective, and had dozens of original Saturn releases, all with hand drawn or hand screened sleeves. It’s a great time to be a Ra fan - tons of GOOD sounding reissues.

Wow--I love your profile pic. I'm assuming that's one from the museum. I can't believe the amazing number of reissues and unearthed treasures. You get that Cymbals/Symbols set from RSD 18? Incredible. Just listened to Atlantis a few hours ago.

Drunken discogs purch? I awoke to an email confirmation of natural born killers soundtrack on red vinyl, coming from Netherlands.

Ha..usually that would make sense within the context, but not this time.

This is the new King Gizz record. They’re Aussies and as a certified master level fanboy, of course I had to have the “fire goby” colored vinyl to match the album cover. And that version was only available via preorder from their site and shipped from Melbourne.

TL;DR I’m a ******* idiot.

However, NBK soundtrack on red vinyl was an excellent decision.

Second half of the new King Gizz is much better than the first half.

For me it’s the middle. Basically everything from Bird Song to This Thing. Although I do like the title track and Boogieman Sam...but I played the **** out of them when released so am way more into the others.

Who am I kidding. The whole album is great. These dudes just plain **** (probably not actually though cause studio nerds)
