I gotta give it another spin before I make up my mind. Was somewhat of a system shock the first time around. I realized that I took for granted the fact that I've always known what I'm getting with them...so that record had one of my eyebrows raised the whole time.

I've listened to the album on CD in my car the last couple of days and have some thoughts on it:

The production is different than previous records. More effects on the horns than any previous album. Valley of the Damned has an almost dub feel to it. But overall, it's their "dirge" record. At least that is the word that comes to mind. It's starts off at quicker pace but then settles into slower songs. If Burnt Offering was their "stoner rock" album than this is their "doom" album. But I also hear them repeating themselves a bit in some of the songs.

I'd love if they would continue with dub-like feel of Valley of the Damned and go from there. More effects, more weirdness.

This is why I’m glad I don’t reddit. I’d be broke
This past week has been hell. Then I think, what if I paid full price. Always love a deal & hate paying full price for anything. Did however pick up 3 soundtracks over on WaxWorks for Evil Dead 2, Beetlejuice & newest pressing of Friday the 13th. Also did pay full for Nirvana Live at the Paramount but that’s inky because it was from their web store & the orange vinyl. Amazon has the black vinyl for half the price....

It makes sense, but I need to curb my spending for the next few months. So I’m trying not to go crazy with beer and records

Holy ****, it's finally happening...got tix to see King Gizz in September. With Stonefield and ORB opening no less....

And it's at the beautiful campus of the New Belgium brewery on the banks of the French Broad River.

How in the **** am I going to be able to function normally for the next four months?
