Happy Record Store Day, y’all! Anyone going shopping today?
Did the deed. Waited in line couple hours ahead of open.
My store didn’t get the Sigur Ros albums I wanted but did manage to nab one of the two Crow Soundtrack LPs (on white vinyl yo), and PJ Live at Easy St.
My bud ahead of me grabbed the Green River release. Another bummer but at least it’s in good hands.

DAMMIT! I was gonna do bad things for that Pietasters album

my store didn’t even get a copy.
First two stops didn’t have it. Finally on the third, score. Only thing I did not get that I wanted was The Crow soundtrack.

Glassware is overrated.

One of my RSD pickups. I really needed to grab this thing. I know all about TVZ. I know a handful of his songs. I know tons of bands that cover him. But never spent any time with a chunk of his music. Figured this was a good place to start. And say what you will about Fat Possum but they have an excellent, albeit extremely simple and narrowly focused, taste in music.

That probably has the best of his best but there are still plenty of other great songs from him if you enjoy that set.

The next place to go after this is the Live At The Old Quarter set. So damn good.

Oh I’m sure there’s better **** out there, but yeah was thinking this would allow me to make up my mind about pursuing more or just being content with this.

Man, for some reason I cannot stand live albums. But we’ll see where things go.

I didn’t make it to a store until Sunday, so this is my only scoop so far this year for RSD. There wasn’t a ton I was absolutely dying to grab. I’ll probably go check another spot or two this week to see what didn’t get picked over. 4+ year old 3f kriek in the glass.

Will probably be one of the more underrated releases from RSD. This band just recently hit my radar but before I could snag an album proper, this thing got announced. Notice the extremely well prepared (undoubtedly well in advance) RSD artwork and layout?

Sonics album is so good I had to see what this was about. Didn’t disappoint.
