Closet Volbeat fan here.

Talking about it out loud seems to get me into trouble, as I then have to fend off accusations that I might also like Five Finger Death Punch and Nickelback as well.

Thank you for being a better man then I and making the world an easier place to live in. Volbeat is a perfectly likable band.

I always liked that Heaven Nor Hell song. Gets stuck in my craw from time to time. There is something about their singer that reminds me of the Millencolin vocalist - must be a Sweden/Denmark thing? Similar melodic intensity or something.

Anyway, don’t know **** about them other than that one song. Is their other stuff similar?

Pretty much yes, its the same gimmick: late-era Metallica/Rammstein guitar riffs, with vox by the Swedish Chef.

The earlier stuff might be a little heavier with a bit more Swedish Chef, but more or less yeah....fun radio rock.

I remind people that Barney from Napalm Death graced them with his presence on a track, if I want to validate my opinion to them a bit more:

So with the big Netflix release this past weekend of THE DIRT (Motley Crue movie), I had to break out some older Crue on vinyl. Theater of Pain from 1985.

I guess it would be more appropriate if I had drank some Lowenbrau beer if you know the band name origin story..... But Urban Roots/Alvarado Street AMLOJ ipa was what I had.
