I keep intending, but forgetting, to name the album/artist in my posts since it can be hard to tell with some albums. Last album was Dirtdrinker s/t. This...is one of the easier to discern albums that I own.

Modey Lemon is one of those bands that I wish I knew about when they were active...100% in my music wheelhouse.
They were the Pittsburgh band that opened for all the “good” traveling acts. Not the “they always open” band...but the “they always open for the cool ****” band.

Finally a day off and it's gloomy as **** outside. Responding accordingly with records and beer.
This Cat Power Covers album is the only Cat Power album I'm familiar with but it's more than enough. Quiet and contemplative.
Chill Farmstead Farmer Wave bottled 04/16. This beer doesn't stop. Ripe tangy cheese, musty funk, acidic lime juice sharpness, peppery bitter finish.
Been a real **** week at work. My wife just walked in on me listening to this and drinking and asked “so what - are you just like a full blown alcoholic this week?” Seems pretty accurate.
This is the second album from Dan Friel’s new band Upper Wilds. The first album is a major want of mine but can’t find it anywhere. Made sure I nabbed this right away.
It’s slightly possible they went overboard with the “red planet” aesthetic (more orange than red).

2nd remaster/reissue from last week. Touch&Go/Albino did excellent....sound quality exceeds expectations.
Listening to this for a second time...this is a pretty fantastic ******* record.
I think a lot of the dudes who post in here regularly would enjoy. It's a more melodic version of Battles maybe? A lot of electronic influence, but mainly driven by old school fuzzed out pop punk hooks. Mostly softer than Battles. But captivating in the same way they were due to complexity and layering.
Also. been drinking.
so. *******. sold.
Imma check this out but...do you by chance have any recs for a less melodic, mostly heavier version of Battles? Atlas hooked me, but as I explored their stuff further I found myself wanting a bit more.
