All I can see in this picture is a damn fine scotch...shouldn't there be a record or something in there somewhere?
There are both...look closely.

Cruel Noise Records in Polish Hill.
But Paul's, I mean Sound Cat, I mean Juke ...was my weekly stop...once they learned my tendencies they got in everything that I was after. I know the new guy is new, so not sure how he's running the place...but that staff has been there for decades. I sold them records from my warehouse back in the day...they know their **** if you start the convo.
Thanks, I'll check Cruel Noise out tomorrow. Started looking into it just now and the record store that was there prior to Cruel Noise was run by a guy who is co-owner of a brewery that just opened up around here.
It’s a running joke with my fiancé. Basically just trolling her at this point.Mind Cure...yeah.
Everything is interconnected in pgh. It's a great ******* city man.

Does eating left over spicy pad thai with a Wittkerke and listening to Curtis Harding with no photo count?
Asking for a friend.
Oxbow in a can? Is it reasonably priced? This has been sitting around for a while...

The record, not the beer. Both are brilliant.
Not quite the usual thing.![]()

I'm quickly reaching the point where I no longer remember exactly what albums I've posted and what I haven't.

Saw the Pixies and Weezer last night and all I got was this lousy beer koozie.

But the real prize was crossing the Pixies off the bucket list. Holy **** were they super tight as a band still. Joey with killer precision on guitar and the commanding vocals and overall presence from Charles. They sounded every bit as good as I would have imagined they were back in the day.
And honestly, Weezer was no slouch either. Played in front of the Buddy Holly music video backdrop, which was really fun.... and played probably half of the blue album and El Scorcho and Pink Triangle from Pinkerton. Was not expecting to hear much that I knew, so that chunk of the show was a really pleasant surprise. Then they played a solid little handful of covers including a medley of Happy Together by the Turtles and Green Day's Longview. Was pretty slick. Great show for $25...would bang again.

Got to see them in Montreal last fall...I've probably seen them 4 times since 1992, and, although that's a real long time span and my memory fades, I thought this last show was their best.
I loved how they just ripped through the set, no banter, song-to-song, and played well over 30 songs. The Kim Deal stand-in was also pretty good.
Yeah it was Paz. I’ve been a fan of hers since she was in the Entrance band with Guy Blakeslee. I remember thinking she was a perfect fit when I found out she was joining up with the Pixies. If it is still Paz Lenchantin, she is legit. There is really no replacing Kim, but if you have to try you won't find many better options.
I saw that show last Friday when I was in NJ visiting family. I love the Pixies. Who opened the show for you? Heard they were alternating between shows. Pixies opened last Friday.
Last time I saw Weezer before last Friday was when I was a senior in High school in 96. Dropped acid with my brother. First and last time I ever did that. Man to be young again with no responsibilities.
