Recently moved from Seattle to Austin and have yet to find the time to brew a batch. Question to you locals;

How do you go about keeping your fermentation temperatures down during the summer heat? Do you cold ferment or just leave your fermenter in an air conditioned house?

I'm down here in Florida. During the Summer months I mostly brew Saisons because I don't have a sophisticated temp controlled fermentation facility.

The low tech solution that I've found is a large plastic tub I got from a garden supply place. I fill it with water and drop in several gallon ziplock bags of frozen water. I keep this in the air conditioned house as well.

These methods work well for me but I'm obviously not lagering.

Swamp coolers are a very inexpensive method to keep the fermentation temps under a small amount of control.
