would it be feasible boil a small sauce pan full of your recipe to test it for flavor? trying to take the guess work out of it.
You could. But you still have to go through the whole process so personally I wouldn't waste my time to wait 4-8 weeks for a saucepan full. You might try one gallon batches. Several of the online stores sell one gallon equipment kits. The smallest I have done was 3 gallons.
oh, my idea was to get a base taste sort of, not the whole thing. just to get an idea of what it would come out like. now thinking, that the yeast dries the flavor out some what so it would change.
