My beer is currently fermenting in my garage. The recommended temperature that came with my lager syrup was 18 - 22*c. The recent heat wave has sent my beer temp up to 28*c what should I do?

Move it to a cooler area, fermenting that high will make a very alcohol and phenol taste.

If it's cooler in your house you could bring it inside. Or you could wrap some wet towels around your fermenter. The evaporation would cool it some.

The temperate has only risen this high today.have now wrapped cold wet towels around it. Have I done damage to my beer?

Is there a lot of bubbling going on? If so, you might get a weird taste, but by no means ruined. If you don't like it, just give it to your friends. If its past major fermentation you probably wont affect too much.

Definitely invest in a swamp cooler for future brews. Pretty much the only cost is a rubbermaid storage container or a rope bucket. Use frozen water bottles to regulate the temp.

It's day 6 of primary fermentation. Bubbles are appearing every 7 seconds. Is this something to worry about?

You will want to cool it down, but you shouldn't notice a huge difference as the yeast are not that active. The more active they are the more phenols you would get.

If it didn't get above 22C until the 6th day of fermentation, you should be alright. Most of the off flavors and fusal alcohols from high fermentation temps occur in the first 4 days. If the temp was right then, it should be okay. But I would move it somewhere cooler.
