I've read all the threads but here's my situation. I put a batch together tonight and I'm leaving tomorrow. It's sitting at about 68 currenty and I was thinking of setting the thermostat to around 66 for the first couple of days and then bumping it down to 63-64 for the rest of the time I'm gone.

That way, it will be at room temperature for the first three days I'm gone (probably the most important days right?) and then sitting at the 63 ish for the other 4 days.

Will this be alright you think? Would you set some different temperatures?

I just don't want to shock it or get a stuck/stalled fermentation.

What do you think?

my last two batches have gotten down to about 62 degrees farenheit and fermentation did not stall. they were in buckets sitting at 60 degree room temperature.

Mine's been sitting at 62-63F in my basement since I pitched the yeast..and it's been bubbling away ever since. If you are at 60F or over I wouldn't worry. However I don't know what yeast you used. I used the Wyeast 6068.
