Tomorrow I will begin my first batch. I picked a Brewer's Best Black Lager. After doing some reading, I realize that I do not have the ability to maintain the 35-42 temps, it will be more of a 60-65 temp during fermenting. The booklet says that will brew as an Ale. So, oh wise ones, will it be more like a Dark Ale or do I need to consider a different style?

Homebrewing is about experimentation so go for it since you already have the stuff. There is a thread on here not long ago where someone did a side by side of a warm fermented lager and a traditionally fermented lager, I would check that out.
