Hi All,
I have a taprite double output regulator: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0060NOX40/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20
It's been working for some time now perfectly but today when I tried to turn the big red knob on the left clockwise to open the gas flow nothing happened. instead the knob makes a slight clicking movement as if it's grating against something inside and the gas doesn't turn on.
I think that I may have accidentally stripped the plastic teeth that turn the gear on the inside of it. I can't for the life of the figure out how to get the knob off to turn the gear myself, which I wouldn't mind doing seeing as I live overseas and getting a new regulator is going to be very hard.
There is a black casing on the front of the regulator. I can't see this black plastic bit as part of the pressure set up and I think it's the front to make it look nice and holds down the big red knob.
What if I was to remove this black plastic thing and then try to sort it out once it is off? Do you think that might work?
Has anyone had any issues with this before? I tried calling Taprite but the engineer doesn't seem like he spends too much time at his desk and I doubt he's going to call me back long distance.
Any help will do. I've got a cider in the keg that I'm dying to drink and can't use the hose because it goes into another set up altogether Which I would have to spend quite a while taking a part in order to use.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
