Tap-a-Draft, I am impatient..

I got the tap-a-draft system and did a few bottles with my last batch. I am trying to force carbonate one, and the instructions said it would take about a week. I am wondering if there is any harm in trying to pour out a pint now to see how it is going. It has been about a week, and I cant think of a better way to start the 3 day weekend than to draw a nice porter.

If its not quite ready I just let it sit longer right? Any danger in contaminating at this point?

Does that co2 have a way to turn up the pressure?

No, it supposed to keep a 15-20 psi in the tank. I think it self regulates.

Pour a small amount and try. Why wouldn't you?

I tried it last night and I am wondering if the beer is over-carbonated.

It is VERY carbonated, almost like a soda. I have not had a beer this carbonated with just sugar, its very spritzy-ish if that makes any sense. Tastes good other than that though.

I have several bottles and a naturally carbonated bottle also to compare to eventually.

I guess there is nothing I can do with the force-carbonated bottle other than finish it?
