So I'm building a control panel with on of PJs diagrams. A one PID controlling two elements. I'm kind of concerned about the 3 way switch I have controlling the large amount of power for the elements. I noticed that Kal uses relays and I'm wondering if I should do the same. Thanks for the help

So I checked out a bunch of P-J's diagrams and it looks like it's using SSR's (Solid State Relays) and Contactors (Mechanical Relays) is just about all of them.

Hers the one I'm using

Ok, that one has an SSR between the PID & the Elements then 30a switches on the other side.

It's fine. The alternate would be to have a low voltage switch control mechanical relays. They are functionally the same thing. But I imagine the 30A switch pole would get a little warm during a 60 minute boil :)
