you know I just gotta say my swimming pool just takes to much time!!!! away from brewing. I just spent the last two days swaping mine over to salt water, cleaning, and plumbing in some dumb ass water feature that doesent even look the way I (the wife) wanted to in the first place. Its kind of funny I just look at that big hole in the ground like a future place to put a lagering celler.:rockin:

It's nice to see that you are observing the glass half full. Maybe if you do indeed get to put in a cellar, your glass will be full full... of wonderful liquid joy.:rockin: :tank: :mug:

I think everyone who doesn't have one wants one and everyone who has one, doesn't want it.

could you imagin the look on the SWMBO face if she came home from work and the pool was a new brew room with a celler under it. ha ha holy hell I guess I would get a lot of closet space out of the deal and probably a new bed too.... theres that half full glass again. speaking of a half full glass

They start digging mine in three weeks.

We're getting the salt system and no fancy "Water works".

We're psyched. The parents have had one for 30 years and it's the only reason we go visit in the summer. (Oh yeah, and the fact that we love them....)

My kids and I are water worms. We live in the water. I'm brewing some great lawnmower brews and finishing my portakegerator for those pool side parties.

O dont get me wrong we spend more time in the water than on land its just mostly on the boat at the lake. the most time I spend with the pool is cleaning it... argh... that damn glass is half empty again. I got Porter on the brain. have any of you tried the Big Boss Porter its like 9.4% and super yummy

my fiance talks sometime about "you know later on in life when we have a nice house with a pool...."blah blah blah..

I think a house with a pool has replaced the white picket fence...

and honestly a pool is the last thing I would want...I like the water (moved to the coast for a reason! plus I grew up 2 blocks from the lake) but swiming pools are just too artificial

plus I like land...I'd rather have a big back yard with no pool than a tiny ass yard with a pool.......thats how my uncles is and my dad and I always laugh at him..

Artificial?????

We don't back up to much ocean front in the midwest.

I guess you & your dad won't be accepting my invite to the pool openning.

haha well I guess if you have enough tiki torches and water falls it'll be ok.....jk

I guess your right muncher...if I hadn't grown up so close to the lake and didn't drive by the beach every day to work I would consider a pool

i'll be there if the blue balls is conditioned by then!;)

I think you're right. I really want one, but I KNOW if I had one, I'd hate it. It's sort of like dating a stripper.

Private pools are probably ok, but I'll never swim in a public pool. Not even a motel pool. It's like swimming in a giant toilet bowl.

Again, the stripper reference applies... Nothing wrong with a pool that gets a lot of use as long as you are properly protected.

I figure if my eyes burn from chlorine, I'm in the pink.

I had a pool at my parent's house growing up and I hated it. I swam about once a week if that but tested and vac'd all he time. I'd say the analogy is like a pool table (for men) and a pricy exercise bike (wife). It really sounds like a great idea until you have it.

A great sign I saw on a neighbor kid's pool growing up...

WELCOME TO OUR OOL
Notice there is no 'P' in it.
Please keep it that way!!!

Yup! Nothing like the feeling of that warm spot!!!! :mug:

Never had one and I doubt I ever will.

I've had a spa most of the last 25 years. I'm building a sunroom over mine, so I can use it more in the rainy season. This will also keep the yellow jackets out in the summer.

A friend gave me all the equipment for a pool. I was all ready to fire up the backhoe, and then he told me his electric bill went up $100 a month when the pool was active.

My kids now swim in a neighbor's irrigation pond by his blueberry patch. 13 feet deep, and no maintenance for me!

I bought one of those inflato-pools a couple of years ago and that was actually worth it. I love the water, but you can't do much in these pools, even with the bigger ones, but float. Ours was 15' Dia. and 3.5 feet deep. If you want to float around or splash a little, then these pools are worth the little time and effort required to "maintain" them.

I got one but out here it's kind of a requirement. Pain in the arse they are. Bought an existing home and mine is too big. 23000 gal. Costs a lot of $ with chem/electric/water. We don't even go in it until the weather is 100+. I'd prefer one 1/2 the size like my previous house when we 1st moved here.

My lab uses it more than anyone.

I did that.. once. NEVER again! Strippers are, well.. insane. Yeah, "insane" is a good description. Also had one for a short term room mate. My other roomate was a DJ at a strip bar, and we had a roomate bail on us with 2 months to go on the lease. So this stripper moved in... (not the same one I dated)

Funny thing is.. the DJ roomate was also a radio DJ 3 days a week. Radio really doesn't pay that well. He made twice as much at the strip bar. lol
