Today I have mad an extract brew with 3 lb of dark liquid malt extract, 2 lb of plain wheat dme, 1 lb chocolate crushed grain, a bar of 70%chocolate, 8 oz of maltodextrin, one pack of cascades, and 2 lb of lactos. I was wond r ing if using 2 lb of lactos was to much, but I am shooting for a sweeter beer. Any thoughts

It will definitely be very sweet, especially with the maltodextrin in it too. I guess it depends on what you think "too sweet" is. I made a 5.5 gallon batch of chocolate stout with only one lb of lactose and i thought it was a good amount, not extremely sweet though. I'm curious to see how this turns out though

It is all up to you. I have made plenty of milk stouts and I have only used 1 lb of lactose. Let us know how it goes.

hmm it will be interesting on how it turns out. I would think 1 lb of lactose would have been enough. I put 8 oz in my last batch and it was about perfect. I used it in I Eat Danger for Breakfast Stout.
