Yep, just doughed in on an ESB recipe I got from a friend that happens to be about the best beer I've ever tasted, and I'm sipping on some Apfelwein that's hit about the 4-5 month mark. Gotta say so far so good, no glitches, hit my temps, no broken gear (yet).

So, who else is enjoying their day brewing?

Had a great time today. Took some imperial stout to 2ndary. Started some apfelwein myself. Now ....if only I had a time machine! :)

Brewing an IPA . Just mashed in. Getting warm outside, 84F with 60% humidity and rising. Thank you to brewing indoors with central air.

Kegging Oatmeal Stout
Kegging fat tire

Dumping a cube of house ale wort in the fermenter. 1.2 liter Wyeast 1272. starter.

All and all a good day!

Can only think about it today. At work now, but Tuesday is an AG Nut Brown Ale day for me. Been trying to get it done for two weeks now, so I closed the day off to anything else and have it scheduled for then.

Salute! :mug:

Well, had my first mishap, minor boilover on hot break (running in and out of the house and relying too much on fermcap burned me :\) , but rinse off burner and outside of pot/patio, lighter back up and away we go. About 20mins into boil now.

First Wort Leftover Hop APA. Boiling now. All late additions other than the FWH. First try at both late add and FWH. REALLY looking forward to see how this one turns out!

10# MO
.5# CaraAmber
1oz Centennial FWH
.5oz Warrior 15min
.5oz Summit 10min
.5oz Mt Hood 5min
S-05

Mashed at 155 for 60.

That's very funny. I will be brewing a nut brown ale as well on Tuesday. What a coincidence. Thought it would be a good beer for the October and November months.

Sounds tasty, guess I could share my recipe:

10# MO
.5# Simpson's Medium Crystal
1oz EKG FWH (recipe called for 60 but I've been dying to try FWH)
1oz EKG 5mins
whirlfloc at 15

Mashed at 153 for 60

All in all very simple, and I guess it COULD fit under APA, but with the hops and the MO to me it says ESB.

I got a deal on the MO, so that's what I went with. Lots of high alpha american hops with a high IBU so I figured I'd call it an APA. Either way it'll be beer. Hopefully tatsy beer too!

Well, transferring to primary now. Sadly I only hit 68% efficiency :\ Down from nearly 73 % last time. Still, like you said, it'll make beer and hopefully darn tasty beer :D

Tried my hand at mashing pumpkin puree today. Sparge was a little slower than usual, but everything turned out great. I kicked my keg of Orange Honey Wheat too, so now I can drop in the IPA I just kegged. :) I gotta say, today was a good day.

Brewing a bourbon barrel porter in the cool AC today! :p

13lbs Marris Otter
1lb Pale wheat
1lbs Chocolate
.5lb black malt
.5lb dark crystal

Smells good!

Just got back from New Orleans, may call this one Lake Pontchartrain in a barrel.

Sunday is the most sacred of days for me... BREW DAY!!!

Today I transferred a Golden Dragon to secondary and washed the yeast. I also took a gravity reading on my Patersbier and will bottle it next week (was down to 1.008 from 1.046 SG :rockin:) .

I'm brewing what I'll ter my mistake oatmeal stout. I'm currently on the boil.

The mistake was that I didn't have choc malt on hand... Just for fin I tossed in some 80l Crystal into the mash. It'll be beer when I am done still.

Oh and I'm drinking my Raspberry Cream Stout. Good stuff, that.

Yes I drink stouts in the heat of summer!

Been working on my homemade malt mill for the past month. Milled some wheat malt and pilsner malt for EdWorts Bavarian Hefeweizen. Except I hit 80% on my efficiency. :rockin: First time! Usually my effeciency is near 70%. Thanks to my retooling the malt mill. I'll wait and see next brew day.

Anyway I brewed up 6.5 gallons (in fermenter) of Bavarian Hefeweizen and used the Wyeast 3068 Weihenstephan. It should start bubbling before bedtime. All in all a very good brewday!

Finally brewing my SMaSH today. I've been lazy the past couple days.
