I bought a belgian white kit from my LHBS and it has been sitting in primary for 2 weeks and secondary for 1 week and have a 1 gallon glass jug just sitting there empty. What types of ingredients can i put in the i gallon jug with my beer to give it some other types of flavor? I plan on bottling 4 gallons of it and want to try something with the other gallon kind of like an experiment.

It was brewed with coriander and bitter orange peel and the 2 step hops. I have 1 oz of wormwood, 1 oz of star anise and 1 oz of licorice root. If I were to play with some of these herbs, how much of each should I try?

:off: Wow another home brewer in Orem? I thought i had to be the only one. If you smell hot wort on a summer day on the breeze from the north that would be me. ;)

Not sure about the flavors you mentioned but i brewed a Wiess beer a couple brews ago and added a pound of Orange blossom honey it added a nice flavor to it. Winco on 8th North sells fresh honey in their bulk section.

I have no idea what wormwood or star anise tastes like, but I'd be curious to see what a little bit of licorice would taste like in a Wit. I think that would take it away from the spicy citrus character for sure.

wormwood is a very bitter herb and star anise is similar to licorice. yeah there are a few of us in Orem. A friend around the corner actually does it as well.

Nothing! your violating reinheitsgebot. Just kidding, have you thought about imparting any kind of nutty flavor to it?

nutty...... good idea but which nut to add. It will already taste like a blue moon (hopefully) but what would be a good addition to a blue moon

Jamil's recipe uses chamomile, which sounds nice.

Me, I'm waiting for warmer weather so I can put ginger in a beer.
