You mean table sugar? same stuff you put in your coffee?

Alot of people use it to prime, alot of people use upto 20% of fermentables in receipes (mostly high grav belgium style beers).

But if you could be more specific about the sugar you mean and what you are trying to do with it?
 
I assume you mean powdered sugar like confectioners’ sugar (aka icing sugar)? It has corn starch in it, not a great choice. Superfine (caster) sugar is fine though and it dissolves quickly.
 
I put some out on a mirror with a razor blade at a party once. It was fun watching people react.

Yeah, it's great sprinkled on German pancakes. Don't use powdered sugar in beer. As described above it has cornstarch added to keep it light and fluffy. Just use plain granulated sugar.
