I brewed a Black IPA extract kit from northern brewer...primaried for a little under 4 weeks then transferred to the keg and chilled to carb up. It's been in there almost a week and has a very strong alcohol flavor. OG was 1.075. Will it mellow and age even though its cold? Should I warm it up to get it there quicker? Thanks for the help!

What temp. did you ferment it at? If you fermented it too hot the alcohol you are tasting is fusel alcohol. It will not go away and gives you great headaches.

If you fermented at normal temps then you need to warm the brew, let it sit for a few weeks and try again. You are tasting green beer.

It will not go away at cold temps. At higher temps it may mellow with age (months).
