A few weeks ago I did an extract IPA kit from Northern Brewer and opened it up today to do the dry hops. There is some sort of stringy things in the beer that I haven't seen before. Any ideas? I am pretty good with cleanliness and sanitizing...and the beer tastes fine. Anyone know what this might be?

They look like pieces of string/threads... maybe from a hop bag or something similar?

I have a hard time believing that they could be " organic "... but have you tried using a sanitizes spoon and pick one up?

They could be shavings from the barrel they pulled the extract from. I've had that happen to me before. The beer I found these in placed in a competition so I don't think it affected flavor.

Darn it jdauria you beat me to the dog hair choice. Actually my first guess was hairworms. Try not to stay awake worrying about that.

JK, nothing organic will survive in fermenting beer except for infections. I'm going to second the plastic particles guess as well. Be careful, those might clog whatever you're going to use to rack your beer out of the fermenter.
