so ill be brewing next weekend at my moms house. and she has a stream behind the house. i do not have a chiller. so my options are no chill or stick the bucket or keggle in the stream. its probably about 10" deep. the water has to colder than any thing out of a hose. and reasons this wouldnt work ?

as long as i stir it once in a while. i dont see why not..... i mean there is risk of contamination or dumping the whole batch but i think ill proably go that route in stead of no chiill...

I would cover it well and stir it only by gently rocking it. That way there is less chance of anything falling into it outside.
