Strange leftovers in primary

Just racked a maple syrup extract recipe to a secondary, and found all these little "seeds" in the primary leftover. I used whole leaf hops for the first time, and I'm hoping that's what these are from, but any ideas or advice? Ever seen this before?

It looks like some crushed barley and husks made it into your fermenter. This could have been left over from a previous brew (hiding in the spigot) or from the extract itself.
