Hi. I brewed 2 separate German Pilsners and had the same issue in each.
I brew lots of lagers and brew German pilsners often. Of course this recipe is almost all pils malt. I usually have brilliantly clear beers both post ferment and in the pre ferment gravity sample after settling.
I brewed these beers the the exact same specs as before but found that conversion was slow and that the wort never ran clear out of the mash tun.
Ph was about 5.3 at room temp through atc ph meter. I did keep the mash going till I got a clear iodine test.
So. After a long boil whirl floc etc I cooled the beer to around 50 quickly. Bad news. The hydrometer sample has a slight haze after cooling. It is usually crystal clear.
Any ideas ? How might this change the final product?
