Storage of whole hops?

I've been taking advantage of MoreBeer's 12 Kits of Christmas, and ended up with a kit that includes whole hops, which I don't expect to brew right away. I normally store pellet hops in the freezer, but this is the first time I've dealt with whole. Should I do the same thing with them, or store them differently?

Definitely freeze them.

That was fast! But makes sense. Into the freezer they go.

When was growing my own I vac' bagged them flat and stacked them in the freezer. I was using one year's harvest while harvesting the following year's cones and the hops were still great
