I just realized that I performed my "stir/wisk vigorously to aerate wort" step AFTER I added the yeast. I believe I was supposed to do this before, and sprinkle yeast on top without stirring. Is this bad?
I always add the yeast then stir. If it's dry yeast, rehydrate in a cup or so of water prior to pitching. Boil the water, cool to pitching temps, sprinkle yeast on top of the water and let sit for 15min or so, then stir it around. Then pitch into wort and aerate.
