what would the advantages/disadvantages be of stirring up the trub while the beer is in the primary? I would think you could kick up some additional fermentation from some of the yeast that has settled down to the bottom. I would still have a couple days to let it settle out again before transfering it to the secondary and then another 2 weeks to clarify.
I know I could just shake the primary a bit but there is a lot of trub that still doesn't loosen up.
