I am going to order some bottles when it is time to bottle. What is the best way to sterilize them and store them for when I am ready? Can I put them in a dishwasher? thanks

Putting them in the dishwasher will CLEAN them but not necessarily sterilize/SANITIZE them.
Just the opposite. The heat of a dishwasher with a sanitize cycle will sanitize, but not clean up into the bottle. They must be cleaned by hand before putting them in a dishwasher to sanitize. Be sure to run it without soap or Jet Dry.

I'd run it the night before you need to bottle (so that they'll cool off) and leave the door shut until you're ready.

I knew it was one and not the other.
I wash by hand. :D

I dunk mine in a bucket of starsan immediately before filling and capping. I find that I five gallon bucket will hold about 13 or 14 bottles at a time, and my son is incredibly efficient at sinking bottles in a bucket, but not so great at emptying them, he gets star san everywhere.
