This is going to be a really dumb question but...... Do you have to sanitize the brewpot if you boil your ingredients before adding it to the fermentor - or does the heat of boiling it kill any bacteria??? Id think there would be no need to sanitize it because of the heat - but then I again im often wrong :)

Better to ask a question than remain ignorant.

You want to brew with a clean pot, but you do not need to sterilize it. Boiling will sterilize the pot.:mug:
 
You want everything clean but you only need to sanitize equipment that comes in contact with the wort after it has been cooled. The boiling process sterilizes the wort, pot, and anything you leave sitting in the wort for 10+min (immersion chiller, stirring spoon, etc).
