Hi all,

working to convert a Danby Mini into a fermentation chamber.

I've got the DAR604BLS http://www.ajmadison.com/cgi-bin/ajmadison/DAR604BLS.html which has the digital temp readout/set buttons above the door.

I plan to use the STC-1000 to control the temperature. What I'm curious about is how to go about wiring the setup. From what I've found for other Danby minis online, the wiring is pretty straight forward, BUT, none of them are my model with the digital read out, and most folks are using the 'Plug-n-Play' Johnson style controllers vs. hard wired like the STC.

Anyone have any experience working with/modding this particular model of fridge?

I would wire the Stc 1000 like this: 1394845802587.jpg

Then set the fridge to the lowest temperature and plug the fridge into the cooling outlet

I hard wired the stc-1000 into my small chest freezer. All you need to do is disconnect the thermostat in the fridge and and wire to the "cool" side the controller. Then find the 120 volt hot/ neutral and splice in some wires to the power inputs of the controller. Done.

Thanks,

Wasn't sure if it required a specific work around, the on board temp control resets when the power is cut (as would happen with the STC controlling a plug setup that is so common.)

But I think I avoid all that trouble by using Harry's advice.
