This would be my first electric work, but it seems simple enough to follow.

However, I only want to hook up a female side of an extension cord to the cooling side of the controller (not hook up the hot side). Does anyone have a diagram/explanation for this one? Thanks!

edit: I browsed through the STC-1000 thread but only found diagrams for heating and cooling. After googling, I found a thread where someone was explaining how to hook up only the cooling side, but he was doing it hard-wired to the keezer, which seems harder to me.

Use this diagram but don't hook anything to controller pins 5 & 6.

To use a female pigtail instead of an outlet, the wide/silver contact is the neutral connection (gray wire below) the narrow/brass contact is hot (blue wire below) and the remaining contact is safety ground (greenish wire below)...

Cheers!

Thanks! I ended up using this in combination with another diagram and managed to set it up correctly.
