I made a starter that I stepped up to 2 liters (about 1.5 liters actual volume) then cold-crashed it. I don't plan to use it for a week or so. What I would like to do is decant most of the liquid off the slurry, then transfer the slurry to a smaller sanitized vessel (a 1 pint canning jar with lid) and keep it cold until brewday when I will let it warm up and then pitch.
Any problem or concern with doing this?
Thanks!

I would just say leave it on the liquid until you want to use it. The more you open it up and transfer it around the more chance of something unwanted getting in

Thanks for replies. when I said a 2L starter I was referring to the size of the flask, sorry. The only reason I wanted to downsize the container is because that flask takes up a lot of room in my little "dorm room" fridge!
