So ive already had one batch of stout go south because of high gravity, they yeast didnt take and it started to mold, anyway, whatall is involved in making a yeast starter colony.

Hi, I'm doing a stout with a OG of 1.070 and have 2 White Lab 35 mL vials of London ale yeast. This will be a partial grain, liquid malt recipe.

my question is should I do a starter due to its high OG, and if so, how do I do a starter with liquid malt extract, as I don't have any DME on hand. Also should I do a starter with Liquid Malt extract only or add a part of the steeped grain liquid to the starter?

any help would be greatly appreciated.
